I used to do that all the time when I was sewing clothing. The second layer gives a nice body to the garment and provides a way to tack down facings and hem completely invisibly because they are sewn to the underlining only. Dresses found in high end boutiques were underlined - one of the reasons they were priced much higher. There were years when every single dress I sewed for myself was underlined. So pat yourself on the back for a job very well done - you didn't know you were using a special, high-end dressmaking technique!<BR/><BR/>Can't wait to see the entire doll quilt.
